Afghan Faryab Kilim
296 x 211 cm (9'8" x 6'11")
Material: 100% Wool
Origin: Maimana, Afghanistan
Construction: Handwoven Flatweave
Faryab kilims are woven in Faryab province in northern Afghanistan, particularly around the capital Maimana and surrounding districts. This region has been a centre for kilim weaving for generations, with techniques passed down through families of weavers.
These are 100% wool flatweave rugs, woven entirely flat with no pile. The wool threads interlock to create bold geometric patterns: stripes, diamonds, and angular tribal motifs arranged in rhythmic repetition. The weaving is tight and precise, creating durable pieces that were originally made for daily use in nomadic and village life.
Kindly Note: This rug is part of our upcoming container shipment, due to arrive mid to end of February 2026. Once received at our Melbourne warehouse, it will be dispatched immediately.
