Broader than a standard living room rug, our 300 × 250 cm pieces lean towards soft florals and gentle colour, led by Afghan Chobi and Transitional Oushak rugs.

Afghan Chobi rugs knot hand-spun wool into a low, smooth pile with a slight sheen, some in Heriz-inspired designs. Our Transitional Oushak rugs, all made in Afghanistan, carry large-scale palmettes and vines in muted blues, creams and greys. Balkh rugs, the most finely knotted Chobis, sit alongside Yekta and Super Kazakh rugs, our own Kohi designs and a few vintage Persian Tabriz, Kerman and Mahal pieces.

The extra width suits a squarer living room, where the rug can sit under the sofa and both side chairs, or a dining room with a table around 180 × 130 cm, leaving roughly 60 cm on each side for chairs. In open-plan homes, it's a good size for marking out the lounge from the kitchen.
