Rugs Around 400 × 300 cm

At around 400 × 300 cm, these rugs cover the largest rooms in one continuous field of wool, from open-plan living spaces to long formal dining rooms.

Many are newly woven in Afghanistan, including Afghan Chobi and Balkh rugs, our own Kohi designs, and Transitional Oushak and Aaram rugs, mostly in all-over floral and vine patterns in soft blue, cream, grey and pink. Vintage pieces include Persian Kerman, Moud, Kashan, Kashmar and Tabriz rugs, an antique Persian Senneh and Turkmen Ersari and Bokhara rugs. For a flat option, there are large Maimana and Faryab kilims.

A rug this size can hold a full lounge setting or a long dining table with room to spare. All-over patterns read well from every side, which helps when a room is approached from several directions. Leave a border of floor around the edges so the room still breathes.
