Kilim Cushions

Sturdy, flat and full of colour, our kilim cushions are woven from the same northern Afghan wool and stepped patterns as our kilim rugs.

Maimana kilim cushions come from one of the few Afghan weaving traditions that belongs almost entirely to women, passed from mother to daughter, with patterns woven from memory rather than a drawing. Expect bold stepped diamonds and medallions in rust, orange, blue and green. Faryab kilim cushions lean towards stripes and geometric bands, with the wool pattern woven right across the front and back and closed with a neat side zip.

Because a kilim is tightly woven wool, these covers handle everyday use on a sofa or reading chair. Group two or three different patterns together, or pick up a colour from a kilim on the floor. Each is a cover only, so add your own insert.
