Slim enough for a tight hallway or the gap beside a kitchen bench, our narrow runners bring pattern to the places most rugs simply won't fit.

Afghan Chobi runners make up a good share, hand-knotted with a low, even pile of hand-spun wool that keeps the pattern clear. Maimana and Faryab kilim runners are flatwoven from Ghazni wool, while Afghan Super Kazakh runners hold their stepped medallions in finer detail than most tribal weaving. Among the vintage pieces you'll find Princess Bokhara, Persian Kerman, Sarouk and Malayer runners, along with Kurdish Herki and Turkish Kars designs.

In a narrow format, medallions and borders become a steady sequence rather than gathering around a centre. Flat kilims and low-pile Chobis sit neatly under doors and between a bench and an island, and they work beside a bed on a narrow landing too.
