270 × 180 cm (8' × 6')

Kilims lead the way at 270 × 180 cm, with newly woven Maimana and Faryab pieces joined by vintage Persian rugs that have mellowed beautifully with use.

Our Maimana kilims carry stepped diamonds and bands repeated by eye, so the spacing shifts slightly across each piece, and our spring kilims bring in fresher colour. Faryab kilims are finer and more detailed. For pile, there are Afghan Chobi, Yekta and Balkh rugs, our own Transitional Kohi rugs with their very soft hand-spun wool, and vintage Bakhtiari, Shiraz, Tabriz and Kerman rugs, plus Qashqai and Afshari kilims.

This size fills a modest living room in front of a two or three-seater, sits under a queen bed with room to spare on each side and suits a study or sunroom. Kilims at this scale are still light enough to lift, turn and move to another room when the seasons change.
