Persian Kashan Rugs

Kashan established the first commercial rug workshops in Iran in the late 19th century, and the Mohtashem Kashan rugs of the 1870s to 1890s remain some of the most valuable Persian rugs ever made. The city perfected the asymmetric Persian knot, with the finest pieces achieving up to 400 knots per square inch.
